ROCK RAPIDS, Iowa -- The Lyon County Sheriff’s Office investigated a two-vehicle crash reported at 11:15 p.m. Saturday at the intersection of First Avenue and South Adams Street. A 2002 Ford F150 operated by a 16-year-old Sioux Center, Iowa, resident was eastbound on First Avenue and struck a 2001 Mercury Sable operated by Trysten Ramsey, 19, of Rock Rapids while attempting to merge. Both vehicles sustained approximately $1,500 in damages. Ramsey, as well as a passenger in the vehicle he was offering, had minor injuries. The Ford F150 driver was cited for failure to yield to vehicle on the right.

RUSHMORE -- The Minnesota State Patrol investigated a two-vehicle crash reported at 9:11 a.m. Monday on Interstate 90 westbound near milepost 34. A 1999 Chevy Silverado operated by Roy F. Kalkbrenner, 85, of Champlin and a 2005 International Semi operated by Brian E. Leahy, 21, of Brandon, S.D., were both traveling eastbound when the semi rear-ended the pickup, which was pulling a camper. The camper disconnected and rolled into the south ditch and the pickup lost control, went through the median and came to rest in the north ditch along the westbound side of I-90. The camper was a total loss. Kalkbrenner sustained a non-life-threatening injury, while Leahy had no apparent injuries. The Nobles County Sheriff’s Office and Worthington Ambulance assisted at the scene.

WORTHINGTON -- The Worthington Police Department arrested an adult female for driving while intoxicated and no Minnesota driver’s license at 3:51 a.m. Monday.
