Crashes

Lyon County Sheriff’s Office: 5:32 p.m. Sunday, East Michigan Avenue, George, Iowa. A 2005 Ford F-150 operated by Cole Kaster, 18, of George was eastbound when it accelerated, lost control and struck a utility pole, which snapped off at the ground and fell into a yard. Damage to the F-150 was estimated at $2,000, while the cost to repair the pole is approximately $3,000. Kaster was cited for failure to maintain control and careless driving.
