Accidents
GEORGE, Iowa - The Lyon County Sheriff’s Office investigated a two-vehicle accident with injuries at 10:42 a.m. Friday on L14, two miles north of George. Daniel Kronbach, 27, of Lamberton, was driving a 2000 Peterbilt semitrailer rig loaded with feeder pigs. Cheryle Lichtenberg, 63, of George, Iowa, was driving a 1999 Audi A6, when she fell asleep and crossed the center line, striking the driver’s side of the truck. Lichtenberg was extracted from her vehicle by George emergency personnel and was transported to Sanford Rock Rapids for treatment of unspecified injuries. Six pigs died in Kronbach’s trailer. The truck-trailer sustained $6,000 in damages; the Audi had $5,000 in damages.
WORTHINGTON - The Worthington Police Department investigated a hit-and-run accident at 6:33 p.m. Monday at the Worthington Liquor Store.

BREWSTER - The Nobles County Sheriff’s Office investigated an accident involving a mailbox reported at 7:35 a.m. Tuesday from the 700 block of Frontier Road.
WORTHINGTON - The Worthington Police Department investigated an accident at 3:29 p.m. Tuesday at Park Lane and Fourth Avenue.

Ambulance
WORTHINGTON - The Worthington Ambulance was dispatched at 2:08 p.m. Tuesday to Crossroads Care Center, 965 McMillan St.
WORTHINGTON - The Worthington Ambulance was dispatched at 3:57 p.m. Tuesday to 111 W. Okabena St. to assist a male experiencing low blood sugar.

Police
INWOOD, Iowa - The Lyon County Sheriff’s Office on Sunday arrested a Larchwood, Iowa, for filing a false police report with law enforcement, a serious misdemeanor. Mason Alan Van Den Brink, 18, crashed his 2003 Chevrolet Cavalier into a utility pole Friday in Inwood, then fled from the scene. He reported his car as stolen on Saturday to Lyon County deputies. He was also charged with failure to maintain control, a simple misdemeanor. He is being held on a $1,000 bond in the Lyon County Jail.
