LUVERNE - The Minnesota State Patrol responded to a one-vehicle rollover at 12:11 a.m. Wednesday on Interstate 90 at mile marker 15 in Rock County, east of Luverne. Emil Juntunen, 50, of Cloquet, was driving a 1996 GMC Jimmy, lost control of the vehicle and went into the ditch. When he overcorrected, the vehicle rolled multiple times before coming to rest on the driver’s side. Juntunen and a passenger, Brian P. Wait, 55, of Cloquet, were both transported by Rock County Ambulance to the Sanford Luverne Hospital for treatment of injuries; Juntunen’s injuries were listed as severe, while Wait’s were listed as non-life-threatening. The GMC was a total loss. Luverne Fire & Rescue and the Rock County Sheriff’s Office assisted at the scene.
