Osceola County Sheriff’s Office: Byron Sharp, 54, of Whitehall, Mont., was driving a 2007 Volvo semi registered to Jarmer Manure Tanking Service, Fulda, when he failed to make a wide enough turn onto Monroe Avenue from 140th Street at approximately 3 p.m. Tuesday. The trailer was pulled into the ditch in the intersection, began to roll and pulled the power unit into the ditch and rolled over completely. The semi came to rest on the passenger side, sustaining approximately $30,000 in damage. Sharp was trapped in the cab and had to be removed by mechanical means by the fire department. He was transported to Osceola Regional Health Center with incapacitating injuries. The crash caused approximately $1,000 in damage to Monroe Avenue’s shoulder and ditch. Sharp was hauling 6,000 gallons of manure and an estimated 5,000 gallons spilled into the ditch. Assisting at the scene were the Iowa State Patrol, Sibley and Little Rock ambulances and Sibley and Little Rock fire departments. The crash remains under investigation.

Lyon County Sheriff’s Office: Michael Scheidt, 27, Little Rock, Iowa, was arrested on a warrant from the Iowa Department of Criminal Investigation. The warrant is for two counts of purchase/possess depiction of a minor in a sex act-first offense, which are both aggravated misdemeanors. Scheidt was placed in the Lyon County Jail on a $2,00 cash or surety bond.
