Accidents
SLAYTON -- Law enforcement investigated a motor vehicle accident at 12:17 a.m. Saturday on U.S. 59 near Pete's Corner. The vehicle, driven by Esteban Mata Jr., 23, rolled over into a ditch with three passengers. Mata was arrested for driving while impaired, reckless driving and driving without a valid license.
WORTHINGTON -- The Worthington Police Department investigated a hit-and-run accident reported at 5:56 p.m. Tuesday in the 1500 block of East Avenue.
LAKEFIELD -- The Minnesota State Patrol investigated an accident involving a motorcycle and two dogs at 6:51 p.m. Tuesday on Minnesota 86, one mile north of Lakefield. Anthony Rients, 22, of Lakefield, was driving a 2006 Harley Davidson motorcycle when two dogs ran out in front of the cycle. One dog was hit and died, and Rients lost control of the vehicle and slid into the west ditch. He was treated and released for cuts, bumps and bruises. The motorcycle sustained moderate damage.

AVOCA -- The Fulda Fire Department was paged at 5:17 p.m. Tuesday to the 700 block of 230th Avenue for a residential fire.
Police
SLAYTON -- The Murray County Sheriff's Office investigated a report of theft of a boat motor at 1:59 p.m. Saturday in Tracy. The motor was stolen within the last three weeks and is valued at $1,500 to $2,000.

Clint and Katie Sires, Worthington, are the parents of a boy, Preston Harold, born Sept. 4 at Worthington Regional Hospital. Grandparents are Joseph and Debra Sires and Thomas and Susan Brink, both of Fenton, Iowa. Great-grandmother is Lucille Eimers, Fenton.
Stuart and Jennifer Groninga, Mayer, are the parents of a boy, Ethan Kevin Ray, born July 27. Grandparents are Donald and Judy Groninga, Worthington, and D'Arlen Wood, Burnsville. Great-grandparents are Darrel Ross and John Groninga, both of Reading.
