Cass County authorities said a Fargo man rescued from floodwaters Sunday night was arrested on suspicion of drunken driving.

Chief Deputy Jim Thoreson told WDAY Radio News that 37-year-old Matthew Flaig apparently lost control of the vehicle he was driving and ended up in a water-filled ditch two miles two miles north of Hector International Airport on 64th Avenue North.

Thoreson said a passerby spotted Flaig's vehicle in about 4 feet of water and called for help about 8 p.m.

A Cass County deputy who responded to the scene helped Flaig out of the vehicle and arrested him.

Flaig was taken to the Cass County Jail and released on bond.
