OKOBOJI, Iowa - Registration for summer camps at the Dickinson County Nature Center in Okoboji is now open online. Youths ages 4-18 have the opportunity to get outside with a variety of summer camps offered this year.
- Kayaking Adventures will kick off the season with two sessions, 9-11 a.m. June 20-21 for ages 10-12; and 9 a.m. to noon June 27-28 for ages 13-18. Join our naturalists and certified instructor for lessons on safety and paddling techniques and put your new-found knowledge to use on the water. Campers may use their own kayak and life preserver or may borrow one from the center.
- July will feature the Outdoor Discoveries camp, with one session 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. July 18 for ages 4-5; and 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. July 19 for ages 6-7. Kids will spend a day with naturalists meeting animal ambassadors, hiking outside, playing games and making crafts to take home.
- The final camp of the summer will be Science Quest, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Aug. 1 for ages 8-9. Youths will get to explore the world through experiments and scientific endeavors.
