Down two games to none, Fulda rallies to defeat SWC

FULDA -- Down by two games to start Tuesday night's match, the Fulda Raiders rallied back to win three straight games and claim a key Red Rock Conference volleyball victory over Southwest Christian, 25-27, 22-25, 25-15, 25-22, 15-7.

Fulda was led by Laura Kramer (14 kills) and Kaitlyn Kramer (12 kills, 22-for-22 serving with 12 points and three aces).

Tammy Peterson was 15-for-17 serving with 11 points and four aces, and Sam Raddle dished out 23 set assists for the Raiders.

Mandy Gunderman (26) and Brittany Freese (22) topped Fulda's dig chart.

SWC's Kelsey Van Dyke filled up the stat sheets with 28 kills, 19 digs and 18 blocks.

Erin Mouw passed out 37 set assists, Amber Buys came up with 20 digs, and Kristin Broekhuis served for 15 points to aid the Eagles.

Fulda (2-1, 7-1-1) hosts Adrian Thursday, and SWC (1-1, 4-3-2) visits Mountain Lake-Butterfield-Odin the same night.

ROUND LAKE -- Paced by 11 kills and a 16-for-16 serving effort from Renee Felber, Murray County Central won on the road, defeating Round Lake-Brewster in three games, 25-14, 25-15, 27-25.

Laura Beers registered 10 set assists and was 13-for-15 serving, while Emily Bose recorded seven kills and four blocks, and Steph Gaalswyk had four kills for the Rebels.

Kelli Correll led RL-B with 10 kills, while Amanda Baumgarn had five kills, and Kasey McNab charted 19 set assists.

Casie Smith was 16-for-16 serving with one ace, Krystle Doeden served two aces on a 10-for-10 night, and Elly Schmitz had five blocks, including two aces, for the Raiders.

MCC (3-2, 4-3-3) hosts Westbrook-Walnut Grove Thursday, while RL-B (0-2, 4-2) visits Hills-Beaver Creek the same night.

W-WG 3, ML-B-O 1

WESTBROOK -- The Chargers of Westbrook-Walnut Grove improved to 2-1 in the conference with a four-game victory over Mountain Lake-Butterfield-Odin, 25-19, 25-20, 22-25, 27-25.

No stats were available for W-WG.

Ashley Karschnik chalked up 45 set assists for ML-B-O, while Lacey Janzen charted 15 kills and seven blocks.

Kaysee Nesmoe recorded 13 kills and four blocks, Lynsey Haglund had nine kills, Allison Buhler had four blocks, and Megan Krahn served three aces for the Wolverines.

ML-B-O (1-3, 3-9-1) hosts Southwest Christian Thursday, and W-WG visits Murray County Central the same night.

Adrian 3, Ellsworth 0

ADRIAN -- Sparked by a good all-around match by Kayla Bullerman, the Adrian Dragons swept the visiting Ellsworth Panthers, 25-11, 25-23, 25-9.

Bullerman was 18-for-18 serving with 14 points and four aces. She also had 16 set assists and 10 digs.

Jessica Loosbrock was 12-for-12 serving with nine points, while Meghan Graff (seven), Courtney Thier (six) and Katlin Wiertsema (five) topped the Dragons' kill sheet.

Ellsworth's Brooke Kix was 13-for-16 serving, while Amanda Connors recorded 11 set assists.

Mya Mann picked up 10 digs, while Brooke Kramer had five kills and Laura Timmer had two kills.

Both teams play Thursday, as Adrian (1-2, 3-8) goes to Fulda, and Ellsworth (0-3, 0-6) hosts Southwest Star Concept.

RRC 3, H-BC 0

JEFFERS -- Danielle Trapp had 10 kills to lead Red Rock Central to a sweep over Hills-Beaver Creek, 25-14, 25-22, 25-11.

Ashley Neperman followed with nine kills, Krystle Sell had 20 set assists, eight service points and two aces, and Kelly Shaner turned in a solid game with eight service points and three aces for RRC (2-1, 7-9), which visits Edgerton Thursday.

H-BC (0-3, 0-5) hosts Round Lake-Brewster Thursday.

Windom 3, Albert Lea 0

WINDOM -- Malori Paplow had a team-best nine kills, and Makenzie Lovell added eight kills as Windom swept Albert Lea, 25-15, 25-15, 27-25.

Cassie Oddson followed with 10 digs, Megan Ysker recorded 14 set assists, and Katie Symens served 13-for-13 to lead the Eagles, who host Worthington Thursday.

Luverne 3, West Central 0

HARTFORD, S.D. -- Led by Lindsey Olson's nine kills, Luverne improved to 3-8 with a road victory over West Central, 25-18, 25-20, 25-15.

Hilary Hanson charted seven kills and two ace serves, and Karrie Xaisongkham had seven digs for the Cardinals.

Luverne's next game is Monday at Southwest Star Concept.
