FARGO - The Fargo Fire Department investigated Saturday a chemical that turned the Rose Coulee red, but it was determined to not be hazardous to the public or the environment.

The fire department received the report about 10:30 a.m. Saturday from people who noticed the south Fargo coulee was red between 25th Street and University Drive.

Investigators determined that GTG Germain Technology Group, a business at 3011 39th St. S., dumped a polymer coating used to dye sugar beet seeds into a storm drain.
