Area students on Iowa Lakes spring 2020 honors list
ESTHERVILLE, Iowa — Iowa Lakes Community College has released the spring honors list of full-time students (12 credits or more) who have demonstrated academic excellence by earning a grade point average of 3.25 (based on a 4.0) or higher.
Spring semester students who have achieved a 3.25 grade point average or better are recognized by inclusion on the dean's list. Those with a 4.0 (A) average are on the president's list.

Two from region on Saint Mary’s list
WINONA — Two southwest Minnesota students were named to the second semester 2020 dean's list at Saint Mary's University of Minnesota. The full list includes 451 undergraduate students who earned a grade point average of 3.6 or better on a 4.0 scale.
Area students on the list are Isaiah Olsem of Dundee, the son of Don and Peg Olsem, and Jae Faber of Mountain Lake, the daughter of Craig and Debra Faber.
Three from region earn academic honors at UND
GRAND FORKS, N.D. — Three students from the area have earned academic honors at the University of North Dakota for the spring 2020 semester.
The dean’s list comprises students whose grade point average are in the top 15 percent of the enrollment in each of the university's degree granting colleges and schools. A student must have completed no fewer than 12 semester hours of academic work for the semester, of which eight or more hours must be graded work rather than "satisfactory/unsatisfactory."
To qualify for the UND President's Roll of Honor, a student must have an overall cumulative grade point average of 3.8 or higher. The student must also have earned a minimum of 30 semester hours and have completed a minimum of 12 hours at the close of the semester, eight of which must be for traditional letter grades.
Among those named to the dean’s list were Payton Stemper of Luverne and Addison Beaty of Westbrook. Named to the President’s Roll of Honor was Anna Volk of Heron Lake.
Mountain Lake student graduates from UMN Crookston
CROOKSTON — The Office of the Registrar at the University of Minnesota Crookston recently announced its list of spring 2020 graduates.
Spring session graduates include Ashley Nicole Watkins of Mountain Lake, who graduated with a bachelor of science degree in animal science.
Three from region named to Bethel dean’s list
ST. PAUL — A trio of students from the area have been named to the dean's list for academic excellence for Bethel University’s spring 2020 semester.
The list honors students who achieve an outstanding scholastic record during a semester with a grade point average of 3.6 or greater.
Among the students on the list are: Courtney Fey of Edgerton, a sophomore and the daughter of Mike and Cheryl Fey; Sara Eggink of Sibley, Iowa, a senior and the daughter of Kolette and Leroy Eggink; and Emily Hormig of Windom, a senior and the daughter of Daniel and Marcia Hormig.

Worthington student earns 4.0 grade point average
BISMARCK, N.D. — Adam Martin of Worthington has been named to the President's Honor Roll with a 4.0 GPA for the spring 2020 semester at Bismarck State College.
Students must maintain at least a 3.5 grade point on a 4.0 scale while enrolled in at least 12 semester hours of classes to qualify for the BSC President's Honor Roll.
Rock Rapids student on Iowa president’s list
IOWA CITY, Iowa — Zachary Springer of Rock Rapids, Iowa is among the more than 800 undergraduate students at the University of Iowa named to the president's list for the 2020 spring semester.
Springer is a student in the UI's College of Liberal Arts and Sciences and is majoring in political science.
In order to be included on the list, a student must have a minimum 4.0 grade-point average (4.0 is an A) in all academic subjects for the fall 2019 semester, and a minimum of nine graded hours with a 4.0 grade-point average (4.0 is an A) in all academic subjects for the spring 2020 semester.
Six from area on MSU Moorhead dean’s list
MOORHEAD — Six southwest Minnesota are among those who have been named to the Minnesota State University Moorhead dean’s list in recognition of academic achievement for spring semester 2020. Students must maintain a 3.25 or higher grade point average and carry 12 graded credits to qualify for the honor.
Among those named to the list are: Leandra Cannon, a psychology major from Fulda; Brianna Jensen, a graphic communications major from Mountain Lake; Stacy Mertens, a health services administration major from Edgerton; Norberto Orea Morales, a business administration major from Mountain Lake; Winter Sievert, an entertainment industries and technology major from Okabena; and Emma Thuringer, a speech/language/hearing science major from Worthington.
Two from Nobles County earn LATI honors
WATERTOWN, S.D. — Lake Area Technical Institute announces that Cole Bents of Rushmore and Jordan Hall of Worthington have been named to the current president’s list.
The president’s list is a list of outstanding students who, through their initiative and ability, have indicated a seriousness of purpose in their educational program. It’s limited to full-time students who have achieved a semester grade point average of 3.5 to 4.0. Hall earned a 4.0.

FARGO, N.D. — Three southwest Minnesota students received spring 2020 recently from North Dakota State University.
Among those earning degrees were: Austin Nunez of Jackson, who graduated with honors with a bachelor of science degree in social science education; Mari Janes of Mountain Lake, who graduated with honors with a bachelor of science degree in dietetics; and Dana Vander Wal of Slayton, who graduated with a master of athletic training degree.
