WRHCF announces nursing scholarships

WORTHINGTON — The Worthington Regional Health Care Foundation Inc. announces the 2020 Nursing Scholarships awarded to area students in the Minnesota West Nursing Program. All scholarships awarded were for $2,000 to assist students with educational expenses.

RN’S: Darby Biesemeier, Agnes Malters Memorial Nursing Scholarship; Patricia Vadana, Agnes Malters Memorial Nursing Scholarship; Sabrina Bloomquist,WRHCF Nursing Scholarship.

LPN’S: Madison Leighty, WRHCF Nursing Scholarship; Brianna Shriver, WRHCF Nursing Scholarship; Cindi Morales, WRHCF Nursing Scholarship; Jacqueline Perez, WRHCF Nursing Scholarship; Lexi Covey, WRHCF Nursing Scholarship.

Students honored at BVU's student recognition celebration

STORM LAKE, Iowa — Each year, Buena Vista University celebrates students with the Student Recognition Celebration. This event symbolizes BVU's pride for student achievements and honors those who have shown leadership and academic excellence.
Among those honored was Ida Rogers-Ferguson of Heron Lake, who was recognized as the School of Liberal Arts - History Education Senior of the Year and the School of Education - Secondary History Education Senior of the Year. This honor is given to seniors who have shown academic excellence and leadership within their school. Rogers-Ferguson was also recognized for her role as the president of the student organization, Adventure Leadership Program Scholars.
Additionally, Trinity Grimord of Adrian was recognized as a member of Student Senate.

Three from region on Mount Marty dean’s list

YANKTON, S.D. — Mount Marty College (MMC) announces its spring 2020 dean's list honorees. The MMC Dean’s List comprises undergraduate students completing a full-time load of graded coursework with a minimum term GPA of 3.5.
Among those honored were Mitchell Lonneman of Adrian, Molly Brinkman of Jackson and Bret Woelber of Pipestone.

Area students graduate from Morningside College

SIOUX CITY, Iowa — A total of 296 undergraduate students and 375 graduate students earned their degrees from Morningside College in the spring of 2020.
Among those earning degrees from the area are:
George, Iowa: Rachel Van Briesen, master of science in nursing. Leota: Rachel DeJong, bachelor of science in business administration, managerial accounting (summa cum laude). Milford, Iowa: Sheena Dowhower, master of arts in teaching. Rock Rapids, Iowa: Hannah Klocko, bachelor of science in social and behavioral science; Alison Wright, bachelor of science in elementary education-teaching certificate, special education-teaching certificate (summa cum laude). Spirit Lake, Iowa: Felicia Rasmussen, master of arts in teaching. Windom: Samuel Huska, bachelor of arts in American history/world history-teaching certificate (cum laude); Devin Nielsen, bachelor of science in applied agriculture and food studies. Worthington: Emma Gerber, bachelor of science in nursing.
