Minnesota West achieves PN Program Candidacy
WORTHINGTON — Minnesota West Community and Technical College announces that its Practical Nursing Program has achieved Candidacy status with the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing.
The Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) goal is to promote quality nursing education. Candidacy status was granted based on the nursing program demonstrating its current compliance with selected ACEN Standards and Criteria, and demonstrating the potential to achieve ACEN accreditation based upon the criteria reviewed and presentation.
The ACEN will be valid for two years, and an initial accreditation visit will take place prior to April 2020.
“I am very proud of the students and instructors in the Practical Nursing Program at Minnesota West that helped us achieve this honorable distinction,” said Dawn Gordon, Minnesota West Dean of Nursing & Sciences. “The Minnesota West Practical Nursing Program has had top LPN license pass rates for the state of Minnesota for many years. This national accreditation step demonstrates the strong quality of our graduates.”
