WHS band repeats in class at Sioux Falls

WORTHINGTON — The Worthington High School “Spirit of Worthington” Trojan marching band clinched first place in Class AAAA parade competition at the 31st annual Festival of Bands USA in Sioux Falls, S.D.

With a total score of 83.9, WHS missed landing the parade sweepstakes award by .4 to Waseca High School, which earned a score of 84.3.

Nevertheless, the WHS ensemble and its “We the People” show garnered the day’s top scores overall in the categories of Music Execution, Music General Effect and Visual General Effect out of the 28 bands competing.

In Class A parade competition, Adrian High School placed second while Murray County Central was third.

The WHS band’s final competitive parade of the 2018 fall season takes place at 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 27, at the Anoka Halloween Grande Day Parade.
