Minnesota West earns recognition in two areas

WORTHINGTON — Minnesota West Community & Technical College Worthington Campus was recognized in the top three State of Minnesota Building, Benchmarks and Beyond (B3) Awards in the categories of best of “Sustainable Buildings (SB) 2030” and “Best of B3 Benchmarking –Higher Education” during an Oct. 25 program in Minneapolis.

The state of Minnesota is requiring 70 percent more energy efficiency in its buildings in an effort to have all state construction carbon-neutral by 2030. Designed to increase energy efficiency and sustainability, the state’s Buildings, Benchmarks and Beyond (B3) programs were developed for and are required on state-funded projects in Minnesota.

Additionally, Minnesota West was recently ranked in the 2019 Most Affordable Online Colleges for information technology. This ranking recognizes colleges across the nation that are working to provide economical options with fully online offerings. Minnesota West was recognized in this ranking for offering associate degrees in information technology.
