Windom native earns sheriffs’ association scholarship
WINDOM — Jordan Allen of Windom is one of 20 Minnesota Sheriffs’ Association scholarship recipients, the association recently announced.
The annually awarded scholarship financially supports student’s education up to $600. Students in a mandated POST (Peace Officer Standards and Training) skills or other law enforcement program are eligible to apply.
Selection was based on academic achievement, a positive recommendation by the applicant’s home county sheriff and general behavior and attitude.
Cottonwood County Sheriff Jason Purrington called Allen the type of person that puts work first and is always willing to help.
“He is very respectful to both the inmates he serves as well as the staff he works with,” Purrington said.
