Two WHS BPA students advance to nationals
WORTHINGTON — Two Worthington High School Business Professionals of America students recently punched their ticket to the national stage after faring well at the state competition earlier this month.
New Bu and Alvaro Fernandez-Rodriguez will attend the BPA National Spring Leadership Conference May 1-5 in Anaheim, Calif. Bu advanced in the digital media production category; Fernandez-Rodriguez will receive his ambassador award after exemplifying achievement in Leadership, Service, Cooperation, Love, Hope, Faith and Patriotism.
“This has been something I’ve been working on since my freshman year,” Fernandez-Rodriguez said.
In order to attend the conference, the two students are undergoing various fundraising efforts. Staff, students and community members may purchase Trojan apparel through April 3 online by visiting km-apparel.com. Customers may find the Worthington store under the “apparel” tab. Order forms may also be picked up and returned at the WHS main office. Students will also be selling Norwex cleaning supplies and will attend the April 27 Spring Jamboree vendor fair at the Reading Community Center.
