WHS students earn academic accolades
WORTHINGTON — Worthington High School students were recognized for academic excellence Wednesday afternoon during WHS’ 30th annual Academic Awards Ceremony.
The event began with recognition of students who have been involved in WHS activities including Students Against Destructive Decisions, FCCLA, speech, art, National Honor Society, Academic Decathlon, Student Council, writing/journalism, Business Professionals of America and Knowledge Bowl. The WHS female and male athletes of the year were also recognized.
Other awards for academic achievement included the Advanced Placement Award, Pathway to Prosperity Award, Senior Students of Excellence and AAA Awards. Also recognized were seniors graduating with honors (cumulative grade point average of 3.5 to 3.749) and highest honors (GPAs of 3.75 to 4.0).
Graduating seniors in the WHS Class of 2019 will receive their diplomas during commencement ceremonies May 24.
