ADRIAN ― A visible tribute to the class of 2020 is now hanging along Adrian’s Maine Avenue.
Graduating seniors across the nation are missing out on an important rite of passage as commencement ceremonies are cancelled in light of the COVID-19 pandemic.
In an effort to honor local seniors, Adrian’s Sara Brady Vortherms organized a fundraiser that paid to have a picture of each graduate hanging along Maine Avenue. Students were asked to submit a photo, and Vortherms took care of the rest.
Once the photos were in, K&M Graphics turned each one into a large banner, all of which are now displayed from light posts in the middle of town.
Other area communities have undergone similar efforts to honor their senior class in this uncertain time.
