SLAYTON - The Jan. 7 Dinehart Lecture features Meredith Stanton Vaselaar of the Adrian Public Library, who will present “So Many Ancestors, So Little Time: Exploring your Family Heritage.”
This noontime presentation, offered inside the 4-H building on the Murray County Fairgrounds, will give a brief introduction on the basics of genealogical research, and will take participants through research, both at the local levels, the best sources for personal contact, and more.
Vaselaar will also demonstrate online websites via wi-fi and focus on free (non-subscription) websites. Participants are encouraged to bring their research questions, laptops or other electronic devices (although not necessary), and be prepared to learn a lot in a little time.
Vaselaar has given workshops and lectures on genealogy statewide for the past few years, and helps researchers who are beginning the process, as well as those who have spent years doing family research.
