FAIRMONT -- The Fairmont Cardinals girls' tennis team captured first place at the Dunham Doubles Classic Friday afternoon.
The Cardinals scored 173 points in the pro set round robin tournament (no ad), beating out Luverne (155), Worthington (140) and Fairmont J.V (59).
The tournament was broken up into three flights, with A and B teams in the first flight, C and D teams in the second and the third flight consisting of the E and F teams.
Worthington's D team of Jenny Mammen and Raquel Lenien placed first in the second flight, while the Trojan C team of Kaylee Williamson and Janna Morrow captured third in the flight.
Amy Schutte and Sameera Nalla, Worthington's E team, placed third in the third flight. The Trojans' F team of Maddie Tate and Sabrina Klein placed eighth in the third flight.

Worthington's A team of Erin Shutte and Jessica Vuong placed fourth in the first flight, followed by a fifth place finish by Worthington's B team of Angela Bui and Laura Johnson.
