These donations occur due to monthly contributions by participating Federated members. Thirty-six groups received money in this 49th round of funding,
Among the organizations receiving funding are:
Lutheran Social Services, Lakefield Senior Dining: $200 for one new food cart and four new digital food thermometers.
Family Services Network, Jackson County: $250 toward new winter coats for elementary kids in need.
Lakefield Girl Scouts, $250 to make 25 birthday bag kits for Jackson and Lakefield food shelves.
Big Buddies, Jackson County: $300 for 15 bike helmets for wellness group activities.
JCC Anatomy/Physiology Class: $300 toward partial bus costs to visit SDSU cadaver lab.
American Legion Liberty Post, Jackson: $310 to send one student to Boys State.
JCC Schools Title 1 Program, Jackson: $400 to buy six flexible seating wobble chairs for kids struggling to focus.
HL-O Schools FCCLA chapter: $500 toward registration for state convention for new chapter.
JCC Strength & Conditioning Program: $500 toward equipment for all students on strength, conditioning and wellness.
Jackson County Historical Society: $500 toward new book scanner for oversized documents.
JCC first-grade classrooms: $500 toward flexible seating options for the four classrooms.
United Community Action Partnership, Jackson: $500 for math teaching materials for Head Start program.
JCC Riverside Elementary, Jackson: $500 for shelving materials for Guided Reading’s book room.
Greater Round Lake Community Association: $504 to buy document scanner to preserve newspaper articles.
Jackson County Central Schools: $600 to buy two CPR mannequins to train students and staff annually.
Minnesota West, Jackson: $700 for scholarship for Jackson or Martin County lineman student.
JCC Fastpitch, Jackson: $700 for backstop mats for softball fields.
Reinbows Inc., Windom: $750 for scholarships for the after-school tutoring program.
Family Services Network, Jackson: $750 toward back-to-school supplies for 180 students in the county.
JCC Discovery Place Preschool, Jackson: $778 for science center kits/toys to learn/explore involving science.
Southwest West Central Service Co-op, Windom: $784 for materials for mental health intervention for middle school students and teachers.
Jackson County Library: $900 to hire Zooman for the summer reading program in three towns.
JCC Pleasantview/Riverside Elementaries : $1,000 for library books on current topics and nonfiction books.
Okabena Fire Department: $1,000 to replace a 25-year-old hydraulic line on Jaws of Life tool.
Salvation Army Heatshare program: $2,000 to help Federated members with emergency energy assistance.
Nine $700 high school scholarships: $6,300 for Federated members’ high school senior graduates
The trust board received 44 applications totaling $53,627 in this 49th round of funding. The board will meet again in the fall to determine the next round of funding. The deadline for submitting applications is Sept. 27.
