Fire destroys semi near Thief River Falls

THIEF RIVER FALLS—A semi truck is a total loss after it caught fire near Thief River Falls on Monday, May 28.

Thief River Falls Fire Department officials said crews responded to Thygeson's Construction just after 11:30 a.m. for a reported semi-truck fire.

When crews got there, they found the semi fully ablaze with the tires of the trailer on fire, as well.

Crews were able to put out the fire in about an hour, but the semi truck was a total loss. They estimate damages to be about $27,500.

Officials are still investigating the cause of the fire.
