Crashes
Osceola County Sheriff’s Office: 6:54 p.m. Wednesday, Iowa 6 and Iowa 9. A 2017 Freightliner semi operated by Slone Allen La Cour, 22, of Harley, Iowa and registered to Cooperative Farmers Elevator of Rock Valley, Iowa attempted to turn northbound on to Iowa 60 but was traveling too fast, causing the semi and its trailer to overturn. La Cour was transported to Osceola Regional Health Center with non-incapacitating injuries and later released. Damages are estimated at $125,000. La Cour was cited for failure to maintain control. The Sibley Fire Department assisted.

Lyon County Sheriff’s Office: 7:56 a.m. Wednesday, 3100 block of 210th Street. Brad Engelkes, 39, of George, Iowa, was driving a 2001 Dodge van eastbound and fell asleep. The vehicle left the road and entered the ditch, proceeding through an electric fence and bean field, causing damages estimated at $300. Engelkes’ vehicle sustained minor damage. No injuries were reported.
