Osceola County Sheriff’s Office: vehicle vs. deer, 4:35 a.m. Sunday, Iowa 60 near mile marker 45. A 2001 Oldsmobile Aurora operated by Christopher David Lawson, 18, of Excelsior sustained approximately $1,000 in damage. No injuries were reported.
Minnesota State Patrol: 3:18 p.m. Sunday, U.S. 59 and Minnesota 30, Mason Township, Murray County. A 2015 Ford Focus operated by William Joseph Dudding, 89, of Bancroft, Iowa was westbound on Minnesota 30, crossed U.S. 59 and entered the west ditch of U.S. 59. He was taken to Murray County Medical Center, Slayton, with non-life-threatening injuries. The Murray County Sheriff’s Office and Murray County Ambulance assisted.

Osceola County Sheriff’s Office: Ronald Rall, 58, of Sioux Falls, South Dakota was arrested following a pursuit in the rural Sibley area following a report of reckless driving at 9:10 p.m. Saturday. Rall was charged with allegedly eluding, operating while intoxicated-first offense, possession of a controlled substance-methamphetamine (third or subsequent offense) and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was also cited for failure to have a valid driver’s license, careless driving, failure to provide security against liability and three counts of failing to obey a traffic control device. The Lyon County Sheriff’s Office and Sibley Ambulance assisted.
Lyon County Sheriff’s Office: Nathan Helwig, 42, of Rock Rapids, Iowa was arrested Sunday and charged with possession of methamphetamine (third offense), possession of marijuana (third offense) and failure to have an ignition interlock device; he was also cited for failure to have a valid license. The arrest stemmed from a traffic stop near North Fourth Street and North Story Street, Rock Rapids. He was transported to the Lyon County Jail.
