PARK RAPIDS - Mahnomen County (Minn.) Sheriff's Deputy Chris Dewey, who was shot in the line of duty last year, suffered a seizure a few weeks ago, according to a post on his CaringBridge website by his wife, Emily Dewey.

It was the first seizure in more than a year for Dewey, who was shot in the head and abdomen while on duty in February 2009, Emily Dewey says.

She also writes that her husband, whose injuries left him unable to speak, has grown more vocal in the past few weeks.

The Deweys moved from Mahnomen to Cambridge, Minn., in March to live with Emily's parents.
