Former teacher's aide arrested for sex assault

RIVER FALLS, Wis. - A woman who once worked in the Harbor Program at the River Falls Academy was arrested Wednesday, Nov. 18, for allegedly having sex with a male student she knew. The alleged incident did not take place on school grounds.

RIVER FALLS, Wis. - A woman who once worked in the Harbor Program at the River Falls Academy was arrested Wednesday, Nov. 18, for allegedly having sex with a male student she knew. The alleged incident did not take place on school grounds.

Rebecca Ann O'Malley-Tietz, 34, 628 High Ridge Road, was taken to Pierce County Jail for first degree sexual assault of a child. Criminal charges are pending with the district attorney.

River Falls Police Sgt. Jon Aubart said the incident reportedly took place in 2007. The victim is a boy who was 12 at the time.

Police investigated the case but dropped it when the victim wouldn't cooperate.

Later, when the victim was going through counseling, more information was disclosed and police got involved again.

O'Malley-Tietz has not worked for the River Falls School District since spring 2008, according to Aubart.
