MELVIN, Iowa - The Community Foundation of Osceola County will announce and award more than $95,000 in grant funding to 29 organizations across Osceola County during a 5:30 p.m. Feb. 21 awards ceremony. The ceremony had been scheduled for Feb. 21, but was postponed because of bad weather.

The event, which will take place at the Melvin American Legion Community Center, will award $95,121.72 from the County Endowment Fund Program to 29 organizations. The funds are from gambling profits made available and distributed to qualified foundations in counties without gambling enterprises.

The CFOC partners with communities and non-profit organizations to help them fund programs and projects that might otherwise go unfunded.

The award ceremony is open to award recipients, foundation members and the public alike.
