Fulda prepares for annual Wood Duck Festival

FULDA -- Fulda's annual Wood Duck Festival, themed "Music Through the Ages," will feature tunes galore, with performances by the Fulda Big Band, the Fulda High School Concert Band and other musical groups, a street dance, and a presentation on Fulda's music history.

"The grand marshals of the parade are past band and choir directors from the school," said T.J. Graber of Fulda, the vice chairman of the festival committee.

The committee is getting musical groups lined up to perform in the park during the other festival activities, and, as has become a Wood Duck Festival Tradition, Bob and the Beachcombers will perform Sunday in the park.

"It's going to be a great weekend," Graber said. "Saturday afternoon's going to be a great day to make it out. Try to come out to the park, have some walking tacos, ride some rides, get ready for the parade. It's just three days of family and kid time."

8 to 11 a.m. -- Coffee and rolls in the park, served by Fulda Senior Citizens

10 a.m. to 1 p.m. -- Fulda Music History, Bake Sale and Luncheon, Fulda Community/Legion Hall

10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. -- Antique Engine Show, Fulda Depot

Noon to midnight -- All-American Amusement Carnival (1 to 4 p.m., wristband afternoon)

12:30 p.m. -- Horse shoe contest registration (with 1 p.m. start), Fulda City Park

Noon to 5 p.m. -- Family Fun in the Park featuring Bob and the Beachcombers, Fulda City Park. Also at the park during this time will be a silent auction, craft vendors, a food stand and Women of Today Bouncy Room.
