WORTHINGTON - Worthington High School 12th-graders dedicated time Monday to multiple efforts throughout town as part of the district’s inaugural Senior Community Service Project.
Seniors dispersed at various locations, some which included Prairie Elementary, Worthington Middle School and city parks and ditches.
Seniors’ younger peers were excited to play board games, create art projects and practice and further their counting skills with older mentors.
Other seniors were on litter pick-up duty along First Avenue in Worthington and select city parks.
According to Tucker Besel, WHS science teacher who coordinated the Prairie Elementary group, seniors were challenged to participate in community-based service projects by WHS Principal Josh Noble as sophomores and juniors completed Minnesota Comprehensive Assessments.
