WASHINGTON — U.S. Rep. Jim Hagedorn received Growth Energy’s 2020 Fueling Growth Award on Wednesday for his efforts to support the biofuels industry.

It’s the second consecutive year that Hagedorn, who represents Minnesota’s First Congressional District, has been recognized by Growth Energy for his support of biofuels initiatives and recognition of the industry’s importance to rural communities and the economy.

ince taking office, Hagedorn has worked on the House Agriculture Committee and Congressional Biofuels Caucus to ensure greater transparency and oversight in the small refinery exemption (SRE) process and that the Renewable Fuel Standard (RFS) is administered as Congress intended.

"I will continue working with my colleagues on both sides of the aisle, as well as local stakeholders, to promote pro-growth policies that help ethanol and biodiesel plants and their employees power our corn, soybean and grain farmers, rural communities, and economy in southern Minnesota,” Hagedorn said.

Hagedorn was presented the award in a Zoom call with ethanol industry leaders.
