JACKSON - The fate of the Jackson County Resource Center remains in doubt after the Jackson Preservation Alliance and Jackson County made their arguments about whether the building should be saved or demolished - with a new county Human Services building taking its place - in front of Judge Douglas Richards today in Jackson.

The hearing lasted from 9:30 a.m. until approximately 5:15 p.m. today and featured the testimony of three witnesses for the Jackson Preservation Alliance and four for Jackson County.

Lawyers for both sides will be required to submit their closing statements in written form by 4:30 p.m. Friday, after which Richards will determine whether to grant a temporary injunction pending another hearing on the matter.

More information will be posted as it becomes available.
