MANKATO - Motorists are advised of speed reductions and lane restrictions on U.S. 59 (Humiston and Oxford Streets) in Worthington as crews begin a resurfacing project on Monday, July 24, according to a July 17 Minnesota Department Transportation press release.
The project extends from Interstate 90 to the north junction with Minnesota 60 and will be under construction until September. Motorists are encouraged to drive with caution through the work zone and watch for workers, equipment and traffic control devices.In addition to resurfacing, the project includes sidewalk access improvements, lighting and traffic signal upgrades. This project should provide a smoother, safer ride until a more comprehensive project is constructed around 2025.
Central Specialties Inc. of Alexandria was awarded the project with a bid of $1,505,098.
