I-90 eastbound to be closed at Valley Springs rest area into Minnesota

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. - The South Dakota Department of Transportation, in cooperation with the Minnesota Department of Transportation, will be closing eastbound Interstate 90 from the Minnesota State line (Valley Springs rest area) to three miles east of I-90 Exit 1 in Minnesota beginning Thursday.

Eastbound I-90 traffic will be placed in a two-way traffic diversion in the westbound lanes until the latter part of May. Minnesota Exit 1 eastbound I-90 on and off ramps will be closed.

Motorists on I-90 traveling to Minnesota 23 (Luverne) will be detoured at Exit 410 south on Minnehaha County 105, east on Minnehaha County 138 and Minnesota CSAH 4 and then north on Minnesota CSAH 17/TH23 to Minnesota TH23.

This work is being done by South Dakota to install a weigh-in-motion system by Henry Carlson Construction of Sioux Falls.
