LUVERNE - There’s still time to sign up for rock climbing this Saturday and Sunday through the I Can Climb program at Blue Mounds State Park.
Families will have the chance to enjoy a real rock-climbing experience designed for first-time climbers. Scale the colorful Sioux quartzite cliffs that rise above the surrounding tall grass prairie at Blue Mounds State Park in southwest Minnesota. Register for one of four sessions: 9 to10:30 a.m., 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., 1:30–3 p.m., or 3:30–5 p.m.
Hands-on instruction will be provided by trained professionals from Vertical Endeavors Guided Adventures. No experience necessary. Helmet, harnesses and shoes will be used, and participants will have the opportunity to ascend one or two routes.
All ages are welcome. Youths under 18 must be accompanied by a responsible adult. Reservations are required and can be made at www.mndnr.gov/reservations , or by calling 1-866-857-2757.
