Holmes read a short letter to a group of firefighters and others Tuesday and presented them a plaque before a group picture was taken. “I talked to (chief) Rick von Holdt, and he said this is the first time anything like this happened,” Kraft said of Holmes’ request to meet and pay tribute to “all of her heroes.” Added Kraft: “It’s rewarding to her, and rewarding to us.”
