SLAYTON -- Daniel Joseph Kittredge, 23, faced Judge David Christensen Monday in Murray County District Court regarding four separate cases.

Kittredge was scheduled for a sentencing, a plea hearing and two probation violation hearings. He had pleaded guilty in March to a third-degree burglary charge from October 2007, and in a plea agreement, charges from a similar case involving burglary, property damage and receiving stolen property were dismissed.

Christensen sentenced Kittredge to 12 months and one day in the custody of the Commissioner of Corrections, with a credit of 175 days for time served. With good behavior, Kittredge will serve two-thirds of the sentence.

Kittredge also received two 15-month sentences for probation violations, but was given credit for time served during the original sentence of 194 days. All three of the new sentences will run concurrently, and he will be out of jail within months.

"I'm just trying to do my time because I'm tired of screwing up," Kittredge told the judge.

The burglary and property crime cases were the probation violations against two older cases, one of which involved the vandalism at the Iona Cemetery from 2006.
