EDGERTON -- Fueled by 31 points, nine rebounds and eight assists from Cody Schilling Tuesday night, the Ellsworth Panthers boys' basketball team remained unbeaten in the Red Rock Conference with a 79-72 victory over second-place Southwest Christian.

SWC (10-3, 13-6) jumped out to a 14-5 lead and held a 45-42 halftime edge. But Ellsworth prevailed down the stretch in the back-and-forth affair.

Aaron Van Der Stoep drained eight 3-pointers and finished with 26 points and five rebounds for the Panthers (13-0, 21-1).

Alex Huisken led the Eagles with 20 points and six rebounds, while Karl Vander Lugt had 13 points and six rebounds, and Trent Ryswyk scored 11 points.

Ellsworth hosts H-BC Friday, while SWC hosts Edgerton the same night.

FAIRMONT -- Getting 19 and 18 respective points from Jeff Janssen and Eric Hugoson, the Fairmont Cardinals defeated the Worthington Trojans.

"We didn't shoot the ball very well tonight," Trojans head coach Ron Vorwald said. "Fairmont's defense had a lot to do with that, but our guys played hard."

Quentin Dudley had another stellar game with 18 points to spark the Trojans.

Joe Ahrens scored nine points, Joel Olson grabbed 10 rebounds, and Mike Vorwald dished out seven assists for the Trojans (9-11), who host Pipestone Area Thursday.

LAMBERTON -- Going on a 19-7 run to start the second half, Red Rock Central earned a 10-point victory over Round Lake-Brewster.

Kyle Huls topped RRC (5-8, 10-10) with 20 points and 16 rebounds, while Josh Fredrickson notched 18 points.

Blake Walker tallied 11 points and 10 assists for the Falcons, and Eric Altermatt scored 10 points.

Lon Eichenberger scored 21 points to lead RL-B (5-8, 7-12), while Alex Obermoller and Tim Haberman each netted 13 points.

On Friday, RRC hosts ML/B-O Friday, while RL-B hosts SSC.

Edgerton 81, Fulda 55

EDGERTON -- Outscoring Fulda by 21 points in the second half, the Edgerton Flying Dutchmen beat the Raiders for the second time this season.

Fulda jumped out to a 15-0 lead, but Edgerton -- which shot 60 percent from the field, including 10-of-18 from 3-point range -- took a five-point halftime lead before erupting in the second half.

Trey Manitz scored 23 points to fuel the Flying Dutchmen, while Kent Van't Hof (eight rebounds) and Kevin Vander Schaaf scored 19 and 15 points, respectively.

David Crowley's 19 points led Fulda. Tom Kuhl had eight rebounds and scored all 16 of his points in the first half.

Edgerton (2-11, 3-16) is at Southwest Christian Friday, while Fulda (0-13, 0-18) visits Adrian the same night.

HILLS -- Paced by 24 points and eight rebounds from Aaron Esselink, the Hills-Beaver Creek Patriots gained a key victory over the Adrian Dragons.

Cody Rozeboom tallied 14 points, while Tom Scholten charted 13 points and eight boards, and Adam Finke handed out six assists for H-BC.

Ryan Lonneman scored 18 points to lead Adrian. Brett Oertli and Danny Parsley followed with 13 and 12 respective points.

H-BC (9-4, 11-10) visits Ellsworth Friday, while Adrian (9-4, 10-9) hosts Fulda the same night.

MOUNTAIN LAKE -- Sparked by 45 combined points from Derik Johnson (23) and Paul Counter (22), Murray County Central (7-6, 9-8) defeated Mountain Lake/Butterfield-Odin.

Johnson and Counter also grabbed eight rebounds apiece, while Spencer Grimmius recorded 11 points and seven boards.

Kyle Schroeder led ML/B-O (2-11, 4-16) with 24 points and 10 rebounds, while Barrett Herrig had 12 points and seven rebounds, and Taylor Adrian netted 11 points.

SHELDON, Iowa -- Justin Kuiper scored 18 points to lead five Orabs in double figures against Cherokee.

Matt DeJong added 15 for Sheldon (17-3), while Stephen Kirschbaum had 12 and both Nick Pulscher and Kevin Huss tallied 10.

Tyler Jones led Cherokee with 16 points.
