RUSHMORE โ Kiley Dammer , 11, a District 518 fifth-grader, died Wednesday, May 3, in Rushmore.
District 518 brought in counselors and a regional crisis support team to support students and staff at the Intermediate School, as well as Worthington Middle School and Worthington High School, said Superintendent John Landgaard on Monday, noting that a district paraprofessional died that same day.
In addition to counselors and other support staff, the Intermediate School principal spoke with fifth-graders about what had happened, and communication was sent home with parents of that age group, Landgaard shared.
Visitation for Dammer is from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, May 10, at Benson Funeral Home, Worthington.
An account in memory of Dammer was established to defray funeral expenses for the family. Donations may be mailed to or dropped off at First State Bank Southwest, P.O. Box 48, Rushmore, MN 56168. Donations may also be dropped off at First State Bank Southwest in Worthington.
