BREWSTER — The Minnesota State Patrol responded to a semi-car collision at 12:32 p.m. Friday on Minnesota 60 just west of Nobles County 1.
Edvin Bayron Sandoval, 20, of Saint James, was driving a 2010 Saab 9-3 passenger car east on Minnesota 60, with passenger Hugo Vicente Sandoval, 18, of Saint James, when the vehicle collided with a 2007 Peterbilt tractor trailer being driven north on Nobles County 1 by Shawn Lain Munns, 65, of Hawarden, Iowa.
Edvin and Hugo both received life-threatening injuries in the crash. Edvin was transported to Sanford Sioux Falls and Hugo to North Memorial Hospital. Munns was uninjured.
Airbags did deploy on the Saab, but not on the Peterbilt. Road conditions were listed as "dry" and alcohol was not involved in the crash. All three men were wearing their seat belts.
The State Patrol released the condition and names of those involved at 7 a.m. Saturday.
