BREWSTER — American Legion National Commander Paul E. Dillard is scheduled to visit a trio of southwest Minnesota communities on Thursday. He is speaking at several Minnesota American Legion posts throughout this week on his “No Veteran Left Behind” tour.
Dillard graduated from Whitesboro High School (Whitesboro, TX) in 1965. He then joined the Navy, serving four campaigns in Vietnam, including the Tet Offensive. He served in the Navy Reserve as well, before receiving an honorable discharge.
Dillard joined The American Legion in 1969, and is a member of Lake Kiowa Post 265 in Texas. He served as Texas Commander in 2007-08, and was elected National Vice Commander in 2013. On Sept. 2, 2021, at the 102nd national convention in Phoenix, he was elected National Commander.
Dillard will have breakfast at Brewster Post 464 at 8 a.m. Thursday. During the day, he will visit the Luverne Veterans Home before ending his visit at Pipestone Post 6, with a social hour at 5 p.m. and a dinner at 6 p.m.
