WORTHINGTON — A Blizzard Warning is in effect from 6 a.m. Wednesday to noon Thursday for southwest Minnesota, northwest Iowa and southeast South Dakota, according to the latest update from the National Weather Service in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

Periods of snow are expected through today and into Wednesday morning with increasing winds. Total snow accumulations of 9 to 15 inches, and ice accumulations of a light glaze are expected. Winds are forecast to gust as high as 50 miles per hour. Travel could be very difficult to impossible, with widespread blowing snow significantly reducing visibility.
