UPDATE: Candidates for Worthington, Nobles County offices file for November election

NOBLES COUNTY — The filing period for county and city offices closed on Aug. 16, and candidates across Nobles County have thrown their hats in the ring for positions ranging from mayor to town clerk.

Wednesday’s community input meeting at Worthington High School was the third of four planned by the Minnesota Attorney General’s Office.

Three have filed for the Worthington mayoral race after current Mayor Mike Kuhle announced he would not be seeking reelection. Chad Cummings, Rod Sankey, and Rick D. von Holdt will all appear on the ballot come November.

Larry Janssen and Cristina Esther Adame will both be vying for the Ward 1 City Council seat, and Alaina Kolpin will face challengers in the City Council Ward 2 race against Nathalie Tshioko Nkashama and America Voss.

Surrounding cities, townships and Nobles County itself will see a number of offices up for election on Nov. 8 as well, listed below, according to the Minnesota Secretary of State Website on Aug. 19.

Both men face charges of three counts of wire fraud and one count of conspiracy.
