LUVERNE — Luverne Community Education is offering a number of upcoming classes, activities and events.
- There will be an Adult Pickleball League, with a cost of $20.
- A four-hour refresher defensive driving class will begin at 5:30 p.m. Jan. 20.
- Luverne School students grades 8 and above may register for the winter session of Student Driver Education, which is from 4 to 6 p.m. Jan. 31. The fee is $355, which includes 30 hours of classroom education and six hours of behind-the-wheel instruction. Out-of-district students may register for any open spots starting Jan. 24.
- First Aid/CPR/AED Certification class is Feb. 3, with a fee of $58.
- At the Melodious Mallets class for students aged 3 to 12, they will learn to play the Orff instruments, which are a smaller version of a xylophone. The class starts Feb. 4 and culminates with the Luverne Street Music Spring Showcase. The fee is $100 for 16 lessons.
- An ACT Prep class will start Feb. 24 for high school juniors and seniors, who should register by Feb. 9. The fee is $135.
- Girls in kindergarten through eighth grade who are interested in becoming softball catchers or pitchers are invited to a six-session Softball Camp starting Feb. 10. Those who sign up by Feb. 1 have a reduced fee of $60.
