What started out as a screen printing business some 30 years ago has grown to include three embroidery machines, a laser engraver, and whatever else Jarett Hanten decides to try his hand at next.
“Give it a try. It’s an opportunity to meet people from different towns in a network outside of your hometown. You’ll meet a lot of wonderful people and it’s just a great thing to be a part of.”

Lyon County (Iowa) Sheriff’s Office: two-vehicle crash, Wednesday, intersection of Union Street and First Avenue, Rock Rapids, Iowa. Amira Stewart was driving a 2002 Saturn L200 eastbound on First Avenue, attempting to turn north on North Union Street. Kaden Huisman was driving a 1999 Harley Davidson motorcycle westbound on First Avenue. Stewart struck the motorcycle, and both vehicles sustained functional damage. Huisman was transported by ambulance for treatment of injuries. Assisting at the scene were the Lyon County Ambulance and Rock Rapids Fire Department.

WORTHINGTON — After hearing numerous times from individuals concerned about their inability to pay for a loved one’s care at the Sunset Hospice Cottage in Worthington, the board of directors worked tirelessly to establish an endowment. It became a reality four years ago, and now, anyone in need of end-of-life care can become a resident of the cottage, regardless of financial ability.
Headliners Chase Matthew and Fabulous Armadillos will take the stage Friday and Saturday, respectively, along with a well-rounded selection of opening acts.

Lyon County Sheriff’s Office: two-vehicle crash, Wednesday, intersection of First Avenue and Greene Street, Rock Rapids. Gene Groen, Rock Rapids, was driving a 2013 Toyota Prius eastbound on First Avenue when it was struck by a 2019 Chevrolet Blazer driven by Cynthia Hulstein, Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Both vehicles sustained disabling damage. No injuries were reported.

MSP: one-vehicle crash, 5:51 a.m. Thursday, U.S. 59 at 31st Street, Murray County. Elaine Marie Gaul, 89, of Fulda, was driving a 2012 Buick LaCrosse northbound on U.S. 59 when her vehicle left the roadway and stopped in the northbound ditch. Gaul sustained non-life threatening injuries and was transported to the Murray County Medical Center. She was wearing a seatbelt and the airbag did deploy. Assisting at the scene were the Murray County Sheriff’s Office and Slayton EMS.
