Crashes

JCSO: jackknifed semi, 5:48 a.m. Sunday, Minnesota 60, east of Heron Lake. Heron Lake Fire Department dispatched due to a fuel leak.

JCSO: vehicle off road, 10:57 a.m. Sunday, Interstate 90 near Heron Lake exit.

JCSO: vehicle off road, 12:15 p.m. Sunday, Minnesota 60 near Heron Lake.

JCSO: two-vehicle crash, Interstate 90 near Lakefield. Lakefield Ambulance and Lakefield Fire Department dispatched.

JCSO: two-vehicle head-on crash, 1:32 p.m. Sunday, Minnesota 86, one-half mile north of the state line. Lakefield Ambulance and Lakefield Fire Department assisted at the scene.

JCSO: semi in ditch, 1:44 p.m. Sunday, I-90 near Lakefield.

JCSO: six vehicles in the ditch and median, 2:06 p.m. Sunday, Minnesota 60, west of Windom. The Cottonwood County Sheriff’s Office and Windom Police Department assisted at the scene.

Minnesota State Patrol: three-vehicle crash, 2:09 p.m. Sunday, Minnesota 60 in mile 39, Delafield Township, Jackson County. All vehicles were traveling eastbound on Minnesota 60 when they collided on the snow and ice-covered roadway. Involved were a 2007 Pontiac Grand Prix driven by Elijah Aiden Norton, 23, of Minneapolis; a 2020 Hyundai Santa Fe driven by Steven Michael Brecht, 57, of Cold Spring, and a 2015 Chrysler 200 driven by Annette Simone Beyer, 59, of North Mankato. Norton and a passenger, Hannah Faith Norton, 29, of Minneapolis, were not injured. Both were wearing seatbelts and their airbags didn't deploy. Brecht also was not injured, but a passenger, Christine Ann Brecht, 56, of Cold Spring, sustained non-life threatening injuries and was transported to the Windom Hospital. Both were wearing seatbelts and their air bag did deploy. Beyer was not injured. She was wearing a seatbelt and her airbag did deploy. Assisting at the scene were the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office, Cottonwood County Sheriff’s Office, Windom Fire Department and Windom EMS.

Minnesota State Patrol: two-vehicle crash with injuries, 4:50 p.m. Sunday, Minnesota 60 and 550th Avenue, Mountain Lake Township, Cottonwood County. Breeanna Marie Blue, 27, of Windom, was driving a 2020 Ford Escape when she struck an abandoned 2007 Toyota Prius owned by Diego Ivan Juardo, 28, of Windom, on the snow and ice-covered roadway. Blue sustained non-life threatening injuries and was transported to the Windom Hospital. A passenger in her car, Martin Graham Terry, 25, was not injured. Both were wearing a seatbelt and the airbag did deploy. Assisting at the scene were the Cottonwood County Sheriff’s Office, and the Mountain Lake Police Department, Fire and EMS.
