Crashes
Osceola County (Iowa) Sheriff’s Office: 7:02 p.m. Sunday, Oriole Avenue, one-quarter mile north of Sibley. Alan Ray Hoppe, 53, of Sibley, was driving a 2013 Ford Taurus southbound on Oriole Avenue when he lost control and entered the northbound ditch. The vehicle rolled at least twice before coming to a stop in the cornfield. The Taurus sustained approximately $15,000 in damage. Hoppe was transported to Osceola Regional Health Center by the Sibley Ambulance with incapacitating injuries.
Osceola County (Iowa) Sheriff’s Office: 4:26 p.m. Monday, Seventh Street, Sibley. Jasmine Thompson, 17, was driving a 2011 Ford Edge eastbound on Seventh Street, and Joanne Klaassen, 69, of Sibley, was driving a 2015 GMC Yukon southbound on Eighth Avenue. Klaassen failed to yield, causing the vehicles to collide in the intersection. The Ford sustained approximately $10,000 in damage, while the GMC sustained approximately $3,000 in damage. Thompson was transported to Osceola Regional Health Center by the Sibley Ambulance. Klassen was cited for failure to yield.
