Lyon County (Iowa) Sheriff’s Office: single-vehicle crash with injuries, 4:30 p.m. Monday, 2000 block of Iowa 9. Christopher Driesen, 38, of Inwood, Iowa, was driving a 2016 Buick Regal west on Iowa 9 and went into the south ditch. He was transported to Avera Hospital in Rock Rapids, Iowa. Lester Fire and Rescue and the Lyon County Ambulance assisted at the scene.

Lyon County (Iowa) Sheriff’s Office: single-vehicle crash, Tuesday, Iowa 9 and 140th Street. Caryn Lengkeek, 57, of Rock Rapids, Iowa, was driving a 2012 Mazda 3 east. Due to the foggy conditions and speed too fast for conditions, the vehicle failed to stop for the stop sign and left the roadway to the east of the T-intersection. It sustained approximately $4,000 in damage and took out a road sign. Larchwood Fire Department and Trackside Towing assisted at the scene.

Jackson County Sheriff’s Office: semi versus car crash, 4:50 p.m. Tuesday, Minnesota 60, west of Heron Lake. JCSO assisted the Minnesota State Patrol, Heron Lake Ambulance and Heron Lake Fire Department.

Daijon Eshun was initially charged with first-degree criminal sexual conduct involving a minor but was sentenced on an amended charge after entering an Alford plea.

Lyon County (Iowa) Sheriff’s Office: two-vehicle crash, Tuesday, 3000 block of 250th Street. Thomas Reimers, Humboldt, Iowa, was driving a 2013 Chevy Express cargo van east when it made contact with the rear of a Case IH MX 110 tractor being operated by Tyler Kelderman, Doon, Iowa. Both vehicles sustained major damage and were towed away. Doon Fire and Rescue, the Lyon County Ambulance and Trackside Towing assisted at the scene.

WPD: crash without injuries, 5:11 p.m. Wednesday, Eighth Street and Seventh Avenue.

Jackson County Sheriff’s Office: 7:27 a.m. Wednesday, vehicle in ditch on U.S. 71 near the Cottonwood County line.

Jackson County Sheriff’s Office: car vs. deer crash, 7:10 a.m. Thursday, Jackson County 9 south of Heron Lake.

Minnesota State Patrol: single-vehicle crash with injuries, 11:06 p.m. Thursday, Interstate 90 between mileposts 29 and 30. Randi Denise Berghorst, 49, of Luverne, was driving a 2012 Toyota Prius west on Interstate 90 when it went off icy, snowy road, struck the median cable barrier and crossed both lanes, coming to rest on the westbound shoulder. Randi and her passenger, Brandon Samuel Berghorst, 19, of Luverne, were both transported to Sanford Luverne Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Both were wearing seatbelts and the airbags on the vehicle did deploy. Adrian Police and Ambulance assisted at the scene.

Jackson County Sheriff’s Office: 42-year-old male from Amboy arrested for fifth degree controlled substance, 3:48 p.m. Monday, near the Heron Lake Bioenergy substation. The male was in a parked vehicle and was observed by law enforcement to be reportedly smoking from a glass pipe. Both the pipe and a baggy containing a crystal-like substance tested positive for methamphetamine.
