WPD: crash without injuries, 5:52 p.m. Tuesday, 700 block of Second Avenue.

WPD: hit and run, 6:55 p.m. Tuesday, 900 block of Seventh Avenue.

Lyon County Sheriff’s Office: two-vehicle crash without injuries, 12:37 p.m. Wednesday, First Avenue and South Union Street, Rock Rapids, Iowa. Audrey Postma, 52, of Rock Rapids, was driving a 2013 Chevy Malibu southbound on Union Street and attempted to cross First Avenue. She slowed for a vehicle exiting a gas station and was struck by a 2005 Peterbilt tractor-trailer driven by Rickey Winter, 66, of Canby. Postman’s vehicle sustained approximately $3,000 in damage. Winter was cited for failure to yield.

WPD: crash without injuries, 6:03 p.m. Wednesday, North Crailsheim Road and Fox Farm Road.


Minnesota State Patrol: two-vehicle crash, 12:41 p.m. Thursday, Minnesota 60 and Third Avenue South, Windom. A 2015 Ford F250 driven by Aaron Lee Flemming, 39, of Litchfield, was eastbound on Minnesota 60, and a 1997 Ford F150 driven by James Allen Pankonin, 69, of Rushmore, was southbound on Third Avenue when they collided in the intersection. Pankonin sustained non-life threatening injuries and was transported to the Windom Hospital. His airbag did deploy. Flemming was not injured. Both men were wearing seatbelts. Assisting at the scene were the Windom Police Department and Windom Ambulance.

WPD: hit and run, 8:23 a.m. Friday, 1500 block of Clary Street.


WPD: attempted burglary, 9:33 a.m. Tuesday, 1300 block of McMillan Street.

NCSO: property damage, 10:16 a.m. Tuesday, Ellsworth.

WPD: fraud, 3:23 p.m. Tuesday, 1600 block of Rowe Avenue.

Lyon County Sheriff’s Office: arrested Lynelle Schemmel, 52, of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, Tuesday on eight active Lyon County arrest warrants, including four counts of forgery, two counts of identity theft and nine counts of fifth-degree theft. Schemmel was jailed on a $21,000 bond.

WPD: animal complaint, 6:58 p.m. Tuesday, 1000 block of Sixth Avenue.


WPD: disturbing the peace, 11:22 p.m. Tuesday, alley behind Hotel Thompson.

WPD: public nuisance (construction material, inoperable vehicle in yard), 9:04 a.m. Wednesday.

WPD: public nuisance (metal stockpiled in trailer, vehicles needing repair), 10:29 a.m. Wednesday.

WPD: property damage, 11:17 a.m. Wednesday, 1900 block of Woodland Court.

Lyon County Sheriff’s Office: arrested Jorge Alvarado, 43, of Sioux Falls, S.D., on a warrant for eluding police. He was jailed on a $5,000 cash or surety bond.

Lyon County Sheriff’s Office: arrested Lindsay Richter, 37, of Crooks, S.D., at 1:35 p.m Wednesday, on second-degree theft as a result of a March 12 incident at Grand Falls Casino.

WPD: trespassing, 11:50 p.m. Wednesday, 1200 block of Ryan’s Road.

WPD: motor vehicle theft, 8:09 a.m. Thursday, 600 block of West Lake Avenue.

NCSO: fraud, 12:25 p.m. Thursday, 27000 block of Town Avenue, Worthington.

WPD: burglary, 1:17 p.m. Thursday, 1100 block of Seventh Avenue.

WPD: assault, 4:11 p.m. Thursday.

Lyon County Sheriff’s Office: arrested Bobby Joe Simmons, 46, of Sanborn, Iowa, on charges of driving while license suspended and speeding, 6:51 p.m. Thursday, 1700 block of Iowa 182.

Rock County Sheriff’s Office: disturbing the peace, 10:07 p.m. Thursday, 100 block of East Lincoln Street, Luverne.

WPD: verbal argument, 5:40 a.m. Friday, 1500 block of Clary Street.

WPD: property damage to vehicle, 8:04 a.m. Friday, 1500 block of North Spring Avenue.

WPD: identity theft, 8:52 a.m. Friday.

WPD: harassing communications, 9:58 a.m. Friday, 1400 block of Prairie Drive.
