Crashes

Pipestone County Sheriff’s Office: truck versus bicycle crash, 6:51 p.m. Sunday, 90th Avenue at the Casey Jones Trail crossing. A 2008 GMC pickup truck owned by C&B Operations LLC, was driven by Ryan Tibbs, Pipestone, southbound in the 1000 block of 90th Avenue when it collided with an electric bicycle driven by a 16-year-old male who was westbound on the Casey Jones Trail. The bicyclist was thrown on impact down the road and into the ditch, suffering life-threatening injuries. Tibbs was not injured. The electric bicycle was a total loss, and the pickup sustained moderate damage to the front driver’s side. The sheriff’s office reports that the bicyclist did not stop at the stop sign prior to crossing 90th Avenue.
